'Art of Greening' was an installation created by a group of artists including myself, from my alma mater - LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.
This work was created in association with a leading Singapore based real estate company, Wheelock Properties, to be part of a significant milestone for Singapore – 50 years of Greening Singapore, and it was located at Scotts Square, Orchard Road, Singapore. Singapore’s greening campaign began on 16 June 1963, with the planting of a Mempat tree at Farrer Circus by then Prime Minister and late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. The installation reflects Singapore’s rich and colorful bio-diversity and is made entirely by hand using 8,000 hand -painted bamboo sticks.
