The 'Art of Greening' was an installation created by a group of artists, including myself, from my alma mater - LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. This work was made in collaboration with Wheelock Properties, a leading real estate company in Singapore, to commemorate a significant milestone for Singapore - 50 years of Greening Singapore. The installation was located at Scotts Square, Orchard Road, Singapore. Singapore's greening campaign began on June 16, 1963, with the planting of a Mempat tree at Farrer Circus by the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, who was then the Prime Minister. The installation reflects Singapore's rich and colorful biodiversity, and it was entirely made by hand, using 8,000 hand-painted bamboo sticks.
