An inquisitive approach and diverse experimentations led to these works. I use various layering techniques while exploring materiality. These multi-layered works are enriched with elements of chance, spontaneity and an intuitive view of the surroundings with an introspective response to them. They reflect my intrigue for what unfolds with each moment of our urban existence; the myriad, subjective experiences.
Unlike the scrolls, this series is akin to ‘miniature collages’ with the same technique of revealing and concealing images based on my recall of the visuals. The artwork is created from fragments of images that have been captured from unassuming corners of our environment. The small dimensions of the work create a certain intimacy with the viewers wherein they confront and observe images which they would usually not mull over. It is very natural for most people to be drawn to beautiful and perfect objects, however, how often do we notice the imperfect, ordinary or the everyday objects in our lives? These works explore some of these objects and I have attempted to bring out something special in them, making them from ‘unseen’ to ‘seen'.
